Butterfly Project

Hi Everyone!! Today is FBW over at Dannis Dreams and each week one of the DT members issues a challenge. This week was Harriets turn and boy what a fantastic challenge it is. Harriet wants all of us to participate in the Butterfly Project. Details can be found here, but in a nutshell the Holocaust Museum of Houston is asking for people to send in hand crafted butterflies. They are looking for 1.5 million which will represent the amount of children that were killed during the Holocaust. What a beautiful idea and a great project for children and adults. I dont have a picture today of a butterfly because I am having my kids work on them to teach them the further about the horrific loss our Jewish Ancestors endured. So please join us and millions of others who will be sending in Butterflies for this very special project. All butterflies must be in by Sept 15th so there is still plenty of time. Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be back later today with a card to share with you!!

Ann - great post and I think it's fantastic that you are involving your children. I'm doing the same but Abby's been a little tired and hasn't gotten them done.

I love the idea about the Butterflies. I am not Jewish, but will certainly be sending in some to the museum. I am assuming I will be able to find all of the info with google. If you have a link, can you send it to me whenever you get back from Ohio. My kids looove to use my butterfly punches and what a great lesson at the same time. I AM SOOO EXCITED!!!
