Celebrate in Style

Hi Everyone! Quick post tonight. When I went to NH for SNE, Jodi brought me to her favorite Stamp Store in Maine. I bought a few stamps and these cute mules are one of them. Isnt it just gorgeous!!! One of my favorite pair of shoes are my mules with a kitten heal just like these. My dsp is from K and Company. My cardstock is all SU (rose red and chocolate chip). I stamped my image with Rose Red ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut it out with my oval nesties. The bottom Rose Red panel was punched with my MS Arch Lattice punch. I added three primas and leaves cut from Very Vanilla with my Little Leaves die from SU. Added a few brads and pearls and I am done for today!!!

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!!!

Will we ever grow up??

I made this card for todays Mojo Monday sketch using my new and simply irresistible Cats Pajamas stamps. This set is just so much fun.

My base cardstock is bashful blue and is cuttlebugged with my Swiss Dots folder. My image is stamped with memento tuxedo black on PTI white cardstock. I colored it with my copics and spica glitter pen. My dsp today is SU's Washington Apple. LOVE THIS PAPER!! The rest, ribbon and brads were just in stash.

So my dh and I met with our accountant tonight. I have to say that besides a mamogram, meeting with my accountant is right up there with stress and anxiety. I always feel so intimidated and always feel I am going to forget something. All in all things went well and we will find out the end results soon.

Hope you have a great night!! Thanks for stopping by.

Let them eat cake!!

Wow it feels so good to be blogging again!! I missed it.

So during the week I received my new stamps from The Cats Pajamas. Boy did I have a hard time narrowing down which stamps to buy. I finally decided on this cute set called Smells like Cake (along with others!!). So adorable!!! It is just such a fun and cheerful set to play with.

For this card I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI white cardstock. I colored with my copics and cut it out with my oval nesties and mounted that to a scalloped oval cut from my nesties. My dsp is from American Crafts and I purchased it over at Paper Pretties. She has some awesome paper and everytime I place an order I always pick out a few fun pieces. My cardstock is SU Pacific Point and Pumpkin Pie. On the Pacific Point panel I embossed with my swiss dots folder and cut the edge with my MS Arch Lattice Punch. Ribbon, buttons and linen thread were all in my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by. We are in the middle of a huge thunderstorm so I am going to get off my laptop now!! Have a great night and I will see you tomorrow.

Finally SNE Info

Hi Everyone!! I know I have been MIA most of this week but my craft fair is over and now I can get back to my blog world. I will be visiting all of my friends that I have neglected tonight and tomorrow!!

Now, most of you know that I went to SNE last weekend and what a GREAT time we had!! Not only did we do ALOT of laughing but we also took classes taught by incredible stampers. These two pictures are the only ones that I will release because the rest I look HORRIBLE in. The first picture is me, Jodi and the amazing Cindy Lawrence!! It was so nice to meet Cindy and spend time with her. The second picture is of the girls I stamped with on Saturday. Paulette, Lauren Meader, Jodi and myself. Lauren was so super nice and taught a great class with one of her new templates that you can find at Papertrey Ink.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Kim, Julie, Karen , Joanne and Julia and boy did we all laugh alot. All in all I had a really great time and made great new friends.

I will be back tomorrow with a new card FINALLY. No more craft fair projects needed!! Have a great night.

Would there be any butterflies?

Here is my card for Flutterby Wednesday over at Danni Dreams. You really need to go check out Dannis site because she is offering up some awesome Blog Candy to celebrate her 50th Flutterby Week. Whoo Hoo Danni!! Another good reason to check out and play with Flutterby Wednesday is because Danni has a guest stamper this week. Catherine St Claire. Her blog is awesome and she has a great store that you should investigate!!

My card this week is once again made with scraps I had lying around my scrap room. I got a chance to use my new MS Arch Lattice Punch that I got with my 50% off coupon from Michaels and I also got a chance to use my new Little Leaves die from SU. My stamp set is from Paper Makeup called Buggy Sayings and my littles butterflies are punched with a fiskars punch and then "glitterized" with my new Art Institute Crystal Glitter. This stuff is awesome. So sheer!!!

I wont be around alot this week because I am preparing for a craft fair that I have this weekend so most of my projects are being made for that. Maybe on Thursday I will take a pix of a bunch of stuff that I am working on for the fair.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day.

Make Lemonade!!

I made this card awhile ago for a DT call and I can now post it for you. Of course I did not make the team (that is another whole discussion) but I just love this card anyway!!

I used my much loved Lockhart stamp called Lemons. My dsp is dots and dashes (is that what it is called??) from SU and I colored with my copics. I cut my image out with my oval nesties and my computer generated sentiment with my oval punches. Then I finished off the card with some so saffron brads, so saffron ribbon and a filligree brad on a prima. Easy peasy!!

Well in case you have not heard, I am heading to Stamp NE tomorrow with my bud Jodi. I am waaayyyy excited. I will be meeting lots of new people and learning some new things for sure. I will not be posting again until probably Sunday so have yourself a wonderful weekend and I will bring back some great pictures of the fun!!

An Apple a Day...

I am living up to my promise to myself to use scraps and paper in stock. If you didn't already notice, this red polka dot paper was used for my Elmo card the other day and here I was able to use it again. YAY ME!! Give me a virtual high five!! I am really enjoying this because I feel like I am using the leftovers in the fridge and not wasting any money!! Lord knows I dont have any money to waste right now.

So I colored my Lockhart stamp with my copics and a white gel pen. The paper, I have no idea whose it is anymore and my ribbon is Certainly Celery from the Bundle Pack from SU.

Quick post tonight as I want to get ready to watch Dancing with the Stars with my kids.

Have a great night and I will be back tomorrow.

La la la la Elmos World!!

Hi Everyone!! What a fun card I have for you today. I belong to a group where once a month someone in the group sends out an image to everyone else so we can make a card with it. This month the image was this super duper cute Elmo. At first I had no idea what to do with him. It has been so long since elmo was "part of our lives". I even had to think a minute what color he was, but once I got into it I really had alot of fun. AND I used dsp that I have owned since probably day one of stamping so I am proud of myself for that. Way to go me for using up my inventory!!! Unfortunately I will not get to any SCS challenges today. I was too busy this morning to do the IC and tomorrow I am working a craft fair so I will not be able to do the FS. Well have a fantabulous night and I will "see" you tomorrow. Oh also I do not have a recipe for this card because the image came from someone else and that dsp is sooooo old I have no idea whose it is. Sorry about that!!

A Scrappy Kind of Day

I know I have said this before but if I didn't buy paper for the next year or so I could still make cards with what I already own. Yes I own alot. Paper is my weakness. It is the clothing on my cards. I just get such a thrill over new pretty paper!!! AHHHHHHH!! But I am on my self imposed craft budget so I really need to learn to use what I already own instead of buying anything new. So today I sorted through the large pile of scraps on my crafting table and make two cards with just the scraps. It really felt good to use them. I was really proud of myself for not cutting into a fresh piece of paper.

Now just to be honest, my first card is made from scraps of a new pad of paper I bought this week at Michaels but it was sooooooo on sale that I could not pass up the $5 deal. The dsp is from K&Company the Madeline line. My image is a beautiful Lockhart stamp from the Fleur Couture line.

My next card was made from scraps of paper that I had left over from my SEI Poppy Pack. I have a craft fair coming up and need to make some Birthday cards to have on hand. My image was watercolored with Old Olive and Baja Breeze and it is from the Friends 24-7 set from SU.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great night and I will be back tomorrow with more cards made out of what I already own!! I will use up what I have in stock yet!! Have a great night.

Flutterby Day!

Well yes, today is Flutterby day over at Dannis Dreams. But the day just fluttered right out of my head so I do not have my card prepared. (slaps wrist). I just did not even realize today was Wednesday until alittle while ago. But that does not mean that you cant play along. Just make a magnificent card using any butterfly and upload it with keyword FBW. Easy peasy!! Have fun with that.

I did craft last night though and made a few other things that I will show you. My first card is for MOJO Monday. MOJO77. It was a simple sketch and yet I feel my card needs something. What would you have added?

My next card is for the embellishment challenge over on Paper Makeup. We were challenged to use 2 kinds of bling. I went with bling in my glittery paper, bling around the corners of the main sentiment and the star over the top, I dont know if you can tell, but it is decked out with Dazzling Diamonds. IRL it is so blingy!!

My third card is for a sketch challenge in Dannis Group. Again, not feeling the love for my cards lately. I feel this needs something too. (other than a sentiment). Oh it just came to me!!! I should have put a butterfly on it and then I would have had a card ready for today!! So lets just pretend that there is a gorgeous burgandy butterfly floating around on this card!! Pretend with me!!

Hope you are all having a great day. The weather here is damp, rainy and chilly. Good day to finish up the laundry.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

I'm Scratching my head over this one!!

Well today I worked on the challenge over at Paper Pretties. I just love my paper pretties stamps so I try to play along as much as I can. You can win a $5.00 certificate if you win the challenge so you should check it out. Anyhoo, this week was a sketch challenge but I was just not feeling it. All through making this card I was scratching my head saying "Does that look right?" Then I put the brads on and I really knew this was not my favorite card but it was done so here I share it with you. The stamp is from the set Made with love. The dsp is from making memories and I purchased it from Paper Pretties. I colored with my copics and my brads are SU as is all the cardstock.

My second card was made with my most loved Lockhart stamps. I cant tell you how much love I have for these stamps. They are just so darn pretty. This one was made using paper from Prints Pack in Garden Green. My sentiment is from the Paper Pretties set Rainy Day. I used my oval nesties to cut out my image and my MS border punch. Then I put a simple spiral clip with bow and some hardware around my sentiment from Hodgepodge Hardware.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great night.

Oooops....

Hi Everyone! Here is the card I made this morning for todays Featured Stamper over on SCS. What an incredible gallery this was and I had SUCH a hard time picking a card to case. They were all gorgeous. Finally I chose this card here. I was so excited and went right to work. It wasn't until I was completely done with my card did I realize that it was a Sketch Challenge card and we are not supposed to case those. Ooops. But I happen to love the card I came up with based on hers and was pleased to honor her gallery today.

I hope you enjoyed the weather by you today. Spring is finally starting to emerge here on LI. It is hard to believe we had a huge snow storm just a week ago. Now to lose this winter weight!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great night.

Weekends mean challenges for me!!

Whoo Hoo!! Its Saturday and you know what that means?? Well I will tell ya! It means I have all the time in the world to play with challenges that I put off during the week. On Saturday mornings I ALWAYS love to play along with the SCS Inspiration Challenge. Today they focused on the website Spunky Sprouts. Really cute, modern items for kids. I'll tell ya I would be broke if my kids were little again. Soooo many cute new things for children. So I was inspired by the colors in this picture and this card is what I came up with. I am having so much fun with my Lockhart stamps. I just cant get enough of them and I used the Lemons stamp for this card. It is colored with my copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by. The weather is fantabulous here on LI. Sunny and 65!! Thank you to all my Texas friends who sent me some nice weather!! LOL. Have a great day.

Starstruck!!

I just love love love this new set called Starstruck from Paper Makeup. What fabulous sentiments and these FUN stars in two different sizes. So much you can do with it!! For todays card I knew I needed something alittle bigger than normal so I went with a long card. It will actually fit into a legal sized envelope. What a great size. You can really fit alot onto the card and have some fun with it. My base is Kraft cs and I layered with Very Vanilla and Not Quite Navy. My stars are stamped onto Kraft with NQN ink and cut out leaving a slight border of Kraft around them. I stamped my sentiment onto a very vanilla oval cut out with my nesties and sponged the edge with NQN. Used my top notz die ( I love this die!!) and cut out a NQN panel. My dsp is from Bella Bleu and Parisian Breeze Specialty. Kraft Ribbon from SU as well as those fabulous silver brads. My silver baubles are bella and I bought them at Susanas.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you enjoy the card.

Snow Day....Schools Closed!!

Well we are finally getting the big snow storm that we avoided all winter here on Long Island. We are expecting about a foot in total after all is done and it is cold cold cold!! But of course that does not effect the kids who are home from school today and ALREADY outside playing at 9:30am!! I even put a first round of gloves in the dryer to dry!! Yup its going to be a long day. The big news here in NY is that NYC has closed school also. They NEVER close. But that is how much snow we are expecting. I think they said it had been 5 years since the last time the city closed schools. So that is my fun for the day....I hope to also get some crafting in too. But here are a few cards that I had made already and never posted. I was in a coloring mood so this little bunny was perfect. The image was a RAK so I dont know who makes it but she is so cute peeping out of that basket. I watercolored the basket in Baja Breeze and colored the rest with my copics. The sentiment I generated off the computer. Something I learned from Sharon Caudle whose blog I stalk all the time.

The next card I made I wanted to do something alittle different. I love how alot of people make thier Tilda cards alittle shabby chic. So I wanted to give it a try. Not bad I think!! I had fun with this one also.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I am going to keep warm and dry (unlike my kids who are already making thier way BACK in the house in the time it has taken me to post this. (hehe)

Something different today. I am going to post the ingredients to my cards from now on at the end like most people do:

Bunny Card:

Paper: Parisian Breeze Specialty, Baja Breeze and Kraft Cardstock
Embellies: Brads from stock and Baja Breeze ribbon from SU
Sentiment: Computer Generated
Colored with an aquapainter and copics

Tilda Card:

Paper: MM Chloes Closet, Pumpkin Pie and Bordering Blue Cardstock
Embellies: Buttons from stash, linen thread from SU, blue anchors from Paper Pretties, ribbon from MM Chloes Closet, little flower found in Michaels in the bridal section.
Colored with my copics
