A sketch for you to do!!

Okay so I am feeling a little guilty over today's sketch challenge over at the Little Paper Shop Blog. I got alittle flustered when I saw the sketch (thanks Allison!!) and I did not read correctly so obviously I did not follow it to a T. But a sketch is inspiration right? And it inspired me to create this cute card with the newly released Bathing Tyson image.

For this card I rummaged through some scraps of Cosmo Cricket to find the perfect boy paper. I must admit that alot of my paper is very girlie but I think this works well. After I put my card together I realized that I did not embellish at all but you know what? Boy cards cant really use a bow or flower can they? So I think I am okay there.

So on a personal note....Kids ended school on Friday and start summer camp programs today. DD made junior lifeguards and both DD and DS will be doing Surf Camp and Beach Vollyball. They are going to be total sand in their sandals kind of kids this summer. In case you did not know, we live at the beach here on Long Island so all of these activities are within walking or bike riding distance on the boardwalk which is so awesome. Then I can ride my bike on the boardwalk to get some exercise. (Did I say exercise??? It sounded weird coming out of my mouth!!!). I am looking forward to this summer break.

So head on over to the Little Paper Shop Blog where you can check out Allisons Sketch and see all of the amazing samples that the rest of my dear DT Sistahs created.

I would like to say goodbye to our three guest designers who have been with us at Little Paper Shop for the past few months. Your work will be missed and I will be sure to check out your blogs often.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!!

MTSC79

I have such a hard time lately getting cards posted to my blog. I will do a bunch of challenges and then I do not photograph them. I really liked this weeks sketch from Mercy MTSC79 so I jumped on it and look....it is posted before the next challenge on Tuesday.

My image and sentiment are both from Stamping Bella. I colored her with my copics, a spica glitter pen and a glaze pen although you cannot see the shine it is there. All of my paper is October Afternoon and my ribbon is SU. Today I wanted to do alittle something different with my sentiment so I cut it up into three, mounted it onto the Real Red paper and then popped it up onto dimensionals. The red paper is crooked on purpose. I thought it looked cute this way especially with the whole rag doll, cute as a button thing going on.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope your weekend is ending on a nice note.

A TE Blog Hop for You!!

I am so excited to be participating in today's Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop. I just adore my TE stamps and just dont get enough of an opportunity to grab for them so this was a great reason to sign up for the hop.
For todays card I used Karen Girons Sunday Sketch SSSC74 and the inspiration piece that Taylor assigned to us.

As you can see I pulled mostly the yellow and green from the Inspiration Piece. I used my set Fresh Flowers from TE and stamped it onto PTI Cardstock with memento tuxedo black ink and colored with my copics. All of my paper is October Afternoon, cardstock is all SU and I embellished with some prima flowers and a ric rac of green felt.  I just love the fresh feel of this card.Want to see more yummy Taylored Expressions creations from some super talented ladies? Sorry for being MIA!!!

I have been so very busy with our schools 5th Grade Committee. I am the treasurer and I have been under so much pressure to make sure the books are handled properly and the money is spent wisely. I honestly cant wait for the year to be over. With that said, I have been lacking in time and mojo to create anything on a daily basis but I of course wanted to share with you the color challenge that we have over at Little Paper Shop this week. I honestly wanted to go running when I read the colors but I must admit that it works well together. The colors are Baja Breeze, Melon Mambo and Summer Sun. Instead of Summer Sun I used Crushed Curry because it was all I had that was close enough.
I stamped my image and sentiment from Moments onto my center panel and paper pierced alittle bit for some pizazz. Very simple layout today as this is all my little tired brain can handle!!! LOL. Check out all the deets about this challenge on the Little Paper Shop Blog and check out all the other DT samples that I am sure will knock your socks off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

TESC117

Oh boy did I have a good time making this card today. You know when it all just falls into place and feels so good??? Yup that was me today. I used Taylors Sketch so of course I had to whip out a set from Taylor too and I have not used my Beary Special set in awhile.

I stamped my cute little guy three times. First on the PTI Cream Cardstock then onto the green paper and then a third time onto the printed paper. Then I paper pieced the little guy all together. My dp is all from October Afternoon. Buttons are from PTI, ribbon is SU and my flower is prima.

So tell me....what does everyone have planned to keep the kidlets busy for the summer??? Anything fun and exciting?? I am trying to piece together my kids activities for the summer spending as little money as I can. It is just not easy to find fun activities for them without mortgaging the house!!! So does anyone out there have anything interesting lined up??? Would love to know...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a fantastic one!!

A Baking Preview for You

I have a great new preview to show you today from Little Paper Shop. Meet Baking Lucy!! She's sassy and sweet and comes with the cutest little sentiments to coordinate with all of your baking needs and gift giving. I am sorry for the horrible picture I took today. I am actually posting this Saturday night and I just could not get my lighting right for the picture. But I started by stamping my cute Lucy onto PTI cardstock and coloring with my copics and cutting her out. My layout is based on Mercys Tuesday Sketch MTSC77 and I used some yummy October Afternoon Paper today. I finished this off with some coordinating ribbon from PTI and a gorgeous flower that I had in stash.

Please come by tomorrow for day two of previews with a fun blog hop with my DT sistahs. Till then, enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

On my red panel I stamped the background stamp Behind the Scenes to create some dp. Then to round things off I created one of these FUN new paper flowers that everyone is making. I found the tutorial here, and then I added some daisy ribbon I had in stash. Embellished it with some blue pearls in the center and I am done done done!!!

You Rock!!!

Okay I have to post this before Karen posts tomorrows new Sunday Sketch. I have had this card made for a few days but I am getting really lazy about taking pictures. The weather is gorgeous, we have been hanging with friends and well I have not wanted to be in the house. I want to enjoy the weather!!! But last weeks sketch from Karen was so perfect that I had to play along. Her sketches rock. This one is SSSC71

For my card I used a cute new image that I had not inked up yet from Claudia and Company. How sweet is he with that little puppy!!! I colored with my copics and cut out with oval nesties. My dp is all October Afternoon. Then I finished things off with some really cute ribbon from Making Memories and a fun big button from my stash. Oh and a few chocolate pearls in the corners. Hope you like it!!!

I hope you are all enjoying some good weather and a fun weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!

Adding to my Thank You Collection

Lindsay will be graduating elementary school in a few weeks and I have been creating lots of thank you cards to give out. She wants to give a card to every teacher she has had. So thank you's I make.....This card today uses two cute images from CC Designs. The fence is one image and the little Pixie is the second. I masked off the Swiss Pixie in order to stamp the fence and make her look like she is sitting on top of it. I wont go into deets here how to do this but if you are curious, please let me know and I will fill ya in.

My image was colored with copics, a spica pen and a glaze pen. My cardstock is all SU and my dp is from Basic Grey. I cut the squares and circles out with my nesties and then around the scalloped edge of the circle I added some Tiny Twinkles. I kept this one simple cause the image panel is so large.

Thanks so much for taking a peek. Have a great day!!!-----Ann

3 Challenge cards to show you!!

I had a bit of time after the parade today to do a little crafting and I was able to wrap myself around 3 challenges. Yay me!!

My first card today is for Joannes Sketch Challenge plus three. Although I did not complete it in time to be in the running for the blog candy it was still a fun challenge to work with. This is the sketch and I chose to use gingham paper, printed paper, ledger paper and kraft paper as my choices. My image is a Penny Black image that I purchased at Stampers Dream. I colored it with my copics. My dp is October Afternoon and all cardstock is SU.

My second card is for Mercys Tuesday Sketch which can be found here. MTSC75. I used a cute image I just purchased from MFT called Little Loveasauras. How adorable is this little guy. Obviously he is paper pieced. I actually did a few layers so that I could make the spine a different color but I am not happy with the thickness of the layers. The dp I used for this one is Basic Grey and MME and all cardstock is SU, and the last challenge I accomplished today was Taylors Sketch Challenge. TESC115. For this card I pulled out some more MFT goodness and used the brand new WTG Goes Green. This set just makes me happy!! I did some paper piecing and coloring with my copics. My dp is MME, all cardstock is SU and I finished things off with some antique brads from SU.

So yes, I had a busy afternoon crafting and it felt GREAT!!! Have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Two in One Challenge

Wow!! Little Paper Shop is sponsoring two awesome challenges today that I wanted to share with you. There is a great sketch from Card Positioning Systems and then a challenge from the Oh Alice blog to use swirls on your card.

I incorporated both challenges into one and used one of  my favorite Little Paper Shop stamps called Butterflies. I started by stamping the butterfly in Real Red onto PTI cardstock twice. I cut one out and popped it up for dimension. Then I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the panel. I cut everything out with my square nesties. My dp is from Imaginese Twitterpatted. I used a die to cut out my swirl and then finished things off with some Real Red brads, ribbon and a few crystals. I am very pleased with the way this turned out. It is so cheerful isnt it?

Prizes are being given away to random participants so you will want to head over to Card Positioning Systems and Oh Alice and find out all the particulars. You can also find them over at Little Paper Shop Blog.

Thanks so much for popping by today. Hope you have some great plans for this holiday weekend.

ABC's with SSSC70

Quick post as I am preparing for company tomorrow...BBQ at my house.....I went to the supermarket at 8:30 this morning to avoid the crowds and being I wanted to get out of there quickly I wound up over buying (surprise surprise as my husband would say being I always over buy food for a party.)

I made this cute little card last weekend for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch SSSC70. The whole swirl thing was throwing me off because it did not work with my baby themed card but the sketch inspired me so this is what I created.

I used my Bling Bet set from MFT. I stamped the letters with Tim Holtz ink and then used green stickles for the dots. My dp is as old as the hills but I think it is DCWV. My white glittery letters are Thickers that I picked up at my LSS and then I stamped the Congratulations sentiment onto a Spellbinders tag and looped through some bashful blue ribbon on the end. All cardstock is SU.

Well I am off to marinate some Shish Kabob....Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today.

Taylors Sketch with Millie

****Please scroll down form my Little Paper Shop Post!!**

Well Finally, I completed a sketch within the alloted time frame!!! This one is from Taylored Expressions. TESC114. Super fun sketch and with it I used a super adorable new stamp that I just purchased called Millie the Mouse from
MFT. If you cant read the sentiment on the bottom of the ribbon it says "You make me smile" and this little mouse makes me so happy.

I started by stamping Miss Millie onto PTI cardstock and paper piecing her with some delish paper from MME Bloom and Grow. But then again ALL MME paper is delish!!! Then I cut her out with circle and blossom nesties. All cardstock is SU. I finished things off with a fun sheer white ribbon bow topped with a crocheted flower and an orange crystal and I added three tiny orange crystals to the side of the circle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

LPSC69 Kraft, Blue and Pink

I went real CAS today with my color challenge card for Little Paper Shop. The challenge today is to use Kraft, Blue and Pink. The blue and pink always bring me to baby cards so I went with one of my fav sets called Little One. I started by layering Enchanted Evening, Pink Pirouette and Kraft Cardstock. I did alittle scoring on the kraft. I stamped the stars onto the Pink Pirouette with Enchanted Evening ink. I cut the stars out and popped them up on dimensionals. I stamped this sweet little baby smiley face onto the Pink Pirouette and cut it out with a circle nestie. Then I added a big pink bow and the sentiment Little Star. Cute huh?

There is a prize to be won this week for joining the fun with this challenge. Check out all the deets on the Little Paper Shop blog and while there you will be inspired by the entire DT samples.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great day!!

Made this for last Fridays Taylored Expressions Sketch TESC113.

I started by stamping my image from Taylored Expressions CreativiTEA onto PTI Cardstock and colored with my copics. My dp is from MME Lush. All cardstock is SU. My scalloped edge was made with my new die-namics die from MFT and I finished things off with three little green buttons that I embellished with tiny pearls.

I love the way this one came out. Hope you do too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Enjoy!!

SereniTEA

Had a chance to play with some new goodies today.

I started with  a new stamp set that I purchased from Taylored Expressions called CreativiTEA. LOVE the romantic feel of this set. Right up my ally. I stamped it with SU Close to Cocoa ink and then clear embossed it to make it really pop. I sponged the edges of my circle with Tea Stain from PTI and mounted the circle onto a piece of Close to Cocoa cut out with my blossom nesties. The floral piece behind the image was cut with my Labels 11 from a piece of Graphic 45 paper that I have been hording. The polka dot paper is the flip side to the floral. I finished things off with some pretty lace ribbon also from Taylored Expressions, a few peachy pink roses from Prima and some chocolate crystals around the blossom. I am going to give this card to a very good tea drinking friend of mine who is just such a peaceful person. I know she will enjoy it.

Thanks so much for stopping in today. Hope you have a great day!!
