Sweet and Sassy Yahoo Group Challenge

Hi Everyone. It feels so strange posting to my blog during the day. Usually I leave a night post but I just did not have a chance to take pictures yesterday so here we are. Well its Halloween, and it has to be my LEAST favorite day of the year. Something about people dressing up and begging for candy just does not do it for me. BUT my kids are all set and ready to go so I will trick o treat with them later today.

My son is due home today from his school trip to the Catskills. The school posted some pixs of the kids and I got to see my son. He looks very cold. Or is this just the worry of a mother speaking??? Anyway I cant wait to hear all about his fun when he gets home later today.

Tonight is the release party over at Sweet and Sassy and I am very excited about it. They are coming out with a few really gorgeous stamps that are on my must have list. They also put out a challenge on their yahoo group and the card below is one entry I made for the challenge. It is made with their Olivia the Owl stamp and then I just got the celebrations set to go with the owl so I made her a Birthday Olivia. I did some watercoloring on her and I paper pieced her as well.

My second card is a Magnolia that I have had and just did not have a chance to ink up. I find I really have to be in the mood to work with my Tildas. They require more brain energy from me for some reason but I think she came out really. She was colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS.

Thanks for stopping by and I am off to craft some more so I will have another entry later today probably.

OHHH I want to be a Cutie Pie!!!

Hi Everyone!! Well Paper Pretties is having their newest release party on Nov 1st and along with that is their Cutie Pie contest. Not only can you feel special being a "Cutie Pie" but if you win you will get the ENTIRE release for the evening.....I would just love to win that. I love little Sophia and I am sure the new releases are going to be awesome!! So with that said, I made 2 cards to submit. I just have to decide which one to send in. The first one is Sophia as a cowgirl. I paper pieced her clothes and then accented them with Spica pens. My second entry is Sophia as this gorgeous angel. This stamp is so special. For this one I colored with my Prisma pencils and used my spica pen for the wings and fur trim. I hope you like them.

On a personal note, my daughter is feeling much better thank goodness and my son left today for a school trip up to Frost Valley Resort in the Catskills. This is an annual 6th grade trip that forms camaraderie with the kids. He just started Middle School this year and our district combines 4 Elementary Schools into one Middle School so there are alot of kids he does not know. This will give the kids a great opportunity to get to make new friends. The bad part for me is that they are not allowed to call home for the 3 days they are gone. They were not allowed to bring any cell phones and they have no access to phones in their cabins. So of course I am worrying if he is dressing warm enough. It is unseasonably cold here on Long Island and it is about 20 degrees colder where he is. So of course I am just hoping he is bundling up with the layers I sent him!!!

So I hope you enjoy my cards tonight. If you love Sophia as much as I do hop over to Paper Pretties and enter the Cutie Pie contest also......Have a great night!!!

Okay dont I feel guilty!!!!

Hi Everyone, Well two nights ago I vented about my kids always complaining about not feeling good. Well I now have mud on my face because my daughter has STREP THROAT again!!! Second time in two weeks. I feel so bad having ranted about her complaints when she REALLY WAS SICK....She woke up Monday morning with a fever, headache and sore throat. Well I took no chances and I ran right to the doctor where it was confirmed. Strep again. So Lindsay and I have been in the house for two days. I crafted alittle today and this is the card I made. Another card from my Oct kit from Wish. The Bo Bunny paper is so beautiful and and I used those new chipboard letters for my MOM......I think they are called thickers????? Anyway what ever they are called they are fun to use every once in awhile. Hope you like the card. Have a great night.

Just a few for a friend

Hi Everyone. I won the monthly kit this month from Wish on A Scrap so I made a few goodies to submit to show how wonderful the kit was. (and it was). The first card I made, the paper yelled out to me that it needed something sophisticated so I whipped out my SU Always set and created my card around that set. I inked the bird in versamark and used clear embossing powder to make it pop. I did that on the "A" for the always also. On the second card I punched out the "snowflakes" from the DSP which was from Bo Bunny. They just reminded me of snowflakes so I completely transformed the paper, cut it up and make flakes. I then accented them with brads from MM's. I hope you enjoy these two cards tonight. Not much else going on except kids DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! My kids have this habit of "never feeling good". Stomach ache, sore throat, finger hurts, leg hurts, ect ect ect....Well it is just driving me bananas. I have no more sympathy left for the fake aches and pains......They are 9 and 11. Shouldn't it end by now?????? UGGGHHHHHH........Anyway that is my day. Thanks for letting me vent. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and I hope you have a great week.

Dance Like No Ones Watching

Hi Again Everyone! It has been such a busy week here in our household. We had a bad bout with strep throat for my daughter. We had a HUGE project due for my son and then we had a HUGE science test to study for for my daughter to catch up for the week of work we lost. UGGHHH. Then I worked two craft fairs in between. I did a Breast Cancer Coalition one night and worked a very exclusive private school another day. Both were very nice events. So I did not get alot of crafting done but I had these cards made thinking I was going to submit them to the DT I am applying too but I decided on a few others. I hope I decided on the right ones. So I hope you enjoy these few cards I have to share with you. One is a new Rachelle Anne Miller that I just got and it is so adorable. I am having so much fun with it. The coloring possibilities are endless. The second stamp I used is a stamp I have had for a while and just got around to inking up. That is Tutu Face from STamping Bella. She is so adorable and the sentiment that I bought to go with her is just so perfect if you ask me. "Dance Like No Ones Watching" I often wish I could live my life like that but I am jus too damn responsible!!!! My last card is made from stamps that I got from STudio G which are alot of fun for Dollar stamps. Thanks so much for stopping by tonight. Have a great night and I hope to see you tomorrow.

Card for her BFF

My daughters BFF moved about 3 months ago to South Carolina. I thought she would never live through it. I thought I would never live through it for her. They were inseparable. But lo and behold they survived. They talk all the time on the phone and they play on the computer together and they survived. Well it was her Best Friends birthday this weekend and her family came home for her birthday to have a party so I made this special card for her. I think it is just so appropriate for the two girls especially since my daughter does not have a sister. Her friends mother loved it so much she is going to frame it!! I hope you all enjoy it too. I made it from my papers and stickers from my October Kit from Wish on a Scrap. Laureen puts out the best kits each month. If you have not checked out her kits you really need to because her papers are the best and all the goodies she puts in her kit are the BEST....So I hope you like this card too. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great night.

You're A Hoot and Bella Challenge

Hey Everyone!! It has been awhile since I have been able to sit down and craft and boy have I missed it. I have been working my craft fairs on the weekends. I wish I could say they have been busy but they just have not been. I know the economy is effecting everyone. I understand that. Although I sell crocs for the American Girl dolls and if it wasn't for those I don't think I would have sold anything last weekend. They were selling like hotcakes!!! Thank goodness!! So onto my crafting....I finally got a chance to complete the Bella challenge for last Friday. The Embellishment Challenge to use 5 Buttons. I used the Pea in a Pod stamp from stamping Bella. My DSP was from a kit from my daughters Project Runway and I also used DSP from SU's Prints Pack. I used the following items also: Gelly Roll Glitter pen, Spica Pen, Paper Studio Bag O Buttons, MM's Brads, SU Ribbon and SU Cardstock.

My second card is called You're a Hoot and it is headed to my Bella Sistah (Hi Amy). I made it special for her with the goodies that she sent to me this week. See the picture below for a look at what she sent to me. The card is made with the following items: SEI Poppy Paper Stack, SEI Poppy Buttons, Sweet and Sassy Owl Occasions stamps, nesties, michaels ribbons, SU Ink in chocolate chip, yoyo yellow, close to cocoa all watercolored with my aquapainter and SU cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight. I am not working this weekend and I am hoping to work on my new scrap room and finally stop scrapping on my kitchen table. So keep checking by and I will keep you posted on my results. By for now. Have a great night.

I'm stamping again!!

There is nothing like breezing through all of my DSP to get me motivated. I just LOVE the colors, designs, the possibilities!! So that paired up with a few sketch challenge print outs, I felt good to go. So I made two new cards to share with you today. The first one is a Tiddly Inks from Stamping Bella and the sentiment is exactly what I felt like doing when I got some motivation back. "Dance like no one's watching" All of my cardstock is SU and I am not sure of the DSP. It was given to me by my past Bella Sistah Heidi!!

The second card is from a gorgeous stamp from Paper Pretties. I just love coloring this little watering can in and I did so with my Prisma Pencils and gamsol. My DSP is from the past SU prints pack and all my cardstock is SU. Sentiment is from Stamping Bella. Ribbon from Michaels and brads are MM's

Thanks so much for stopping by. Leave me a comment and let me know you were here. I love hearing from all of you. Have a great night!! Oh and by the way, I know my pictures tend to be alittle dark. I am not real happy with them myself and I am working on the problem.

I have been inspired

Hi Everyone! Well like I said yesterday, I took the WHOLE day today and stamped my little fingers away. I loved every minute of it. My kids both had playdates and the rain stopped long enough that they all went outside and made forts in the backyard. Then I heard it was "Go outside and play" day on Nickelodeon so I am glad they had that chance. Then in between snacks, drinks, and the old "he said/she said" I just stamped. I made 7 cards today but I am only going to post 4 because I am debating whether to try out for a design team.

So the four cards I AM going to show you are so cute (if I do say so myself :) ) I hope you enjoy them. I will be home again tomorrow stamping some more so I will be back again tomorrow. Have a great night. Oh and I forgot to tell you why I was inspired.....Kim over at Crafts by Kim made the most adorable Halloween cards today so I was inspired to make one as well. Enjoy!!

What lousy weather!!!

We are experiencing such yucky weather here on LI. It rained all day today and they predict rain for most of the weekend. So I did something I HARDLY ever do. I stayed in my lounge pants and tank all day and made some cards and chicken soup. It was a perfect day for it. I made enough soup to last over the weekend. YUM!! My cards came out pretty good too. I actually spent some time making a few duplicates of some I already had so that I can sell them, and then I made these two new ones. The first one is made from images I stamped at my SU bud Jodi's house. It is from Pun Fun. The DSP paper I bought on sale at Michaels for .25 a sheet, and my cardstock is all SU. The second card was made from a Lizzyann stamp and my sentiment I bought on sale at Michaels. My DSP was the sale at Michaels and my cardstock is all SU. I hope you enjoy my rainy day creations. There will be plenty more this weekend. I will post again tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day.

Card for a cause

I am posting this card tonight that I made for the Altman House caregivers. There is blog candy on Cammies website and she is asking everyone to send a card to a caregiver of an Alzheimer patient. I think this is a very worthwhile cause. Alzheimer's is a horrid disease that is way harder on the family of the patient than the patient most of the time. I am honored to send my card today to this cause for her. My card was a stamp given to me by my bella sistah. Curley Ewe. Isn't he sweet. Dont ask me WHY I think it is a he but I do. My sentiment is from SU Pun Fun and all of DSP and cardstock is SU also. My ribbon is Basic Elements and also a gift from my Bella Sistah (thanks Amy) I hope you all enjoy this card and go check out Cammies blog for more info on this blog candy. The giveaways are tremendous. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

I am on a roll!!!

I am soooo happy. I had time AGAIN today to make a few cards. I should really check the dust bunnies under the furniture. They must be piling up by now!!! LOL.

My first card is another festive holiday card. The stamp set that I used is an OLD set from SU. It is marked 2003 but I bought it on ebay and I do not know the name. Can anyone fill me in? The DSP I used is from my Glitter Christmas stack again and I colored the little tree with my Prisma Pencils and gamsol. Thank you Jodi for teaching me this technique. What a difference it is making on my cards.

The second card I made tonight is also a SU set. Pun Fun. My DSP is SU and of course so is all of my cardstock for both cards. The coloring on this card was watercolored with my aquapainter. I love this technique also. Gives it a nice soft look.

So I am giving my cards their first airing at a craft fair this coming weekend. I sell my doll clothes at craft fairs and ALL my friends and family keep telling me I need to bring my cards also. I have been so hesitant. It is alittle scary for me to show my cards to people and sell them. It is different one on one like I already do but at a fair!!! Well I am getting over myself and bringing a box full this weekend. (deep breath). Wish me luck!!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you enjoy the cards. Have a great day!!

I am in a festive mood....

Well I was until I had to put my daughter into her room for the night for being fresh. Now as I am typing this on my laptop I am getting notes from her telling me I am the worst mom in the world, she loves daddy better and that she would want to live with any other Mom but me. It is taking all of my energy not to laugh at this because I know it would make her even madder. Now I just received a note telling me she is sorry. She is nine years old and I truly think she PMS's ALL the time. But if she is sorry I will let her out of her room soon. UGGGHH being a Mom can be so difficult sometimes.

Anyway. Onto the festive mood part. I bought two mat packs last week. One was the Glitter Fall pack from DCWV and the other was the Glitter Christmas pack from DCWV. I decided today was the day to play with some of the paper. I used my "Falling for you" stamp of Sophia from Paper Pretties. Isn't she so sweet. I belong to their stamp of the month club and I receive a new adorable Sophia every month. Gotta love it!!! So anyway I used Sophia for my Fall card with my DP from the Fall Pack and for my Christmas card I dont even know whose stamp that is. The box just says Country Christmas. I used SU card stock on both cards and I colored with my Prisma Pencils and gamsol. Hope these cards put you in a festive mood too. Have a great night and thanks so much for stopping by and looking.

Goodbye to the old Shea Stadium

Well it is midnight here in NY. I worked a craft fair ALL day today so I was pooped when I went to sleep earlier in the evening, but tonight is the last game that the NY Yankees will be playing in the old Shea Stadium and the kids (not really kids but very young adults) across the street from me are having a WILD party watching the game. The yelling and hooting actually woke me up, and I was able to hear their TV during the seventh inning stretch because they turned it up so loud and were singing to it!!! :) So here I am now wide awake. So I finished a card I had started earlier and I figured I might as well post it. I received this stamp from my first bella sistah and I actually never inked it up until now. It is called "funky clothesline". I paired it with my new DP from SU and used SU card stock also. The coloring is done with my prisma pencils and gamsol. I hope you like it. Red is not usually my color to work with but I have to tell you that I just LOVE this new paper from SU so much that I can see me working around it ALOT more. Have a great week everyone. Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You to my Bellah Sistah Amy

Well I received such a fun package in the mail today. A bunch of goodies from my Bellah sistah Amy. I am so excited. She sent me 4 rolls of GREAT ribbon, 2 bottles of Stickles in the best colors, a Stamping Bella stamp (curly ewe....he is sooooo cute) and the BEST BEST BEST is a Making Memories holder for all of my brads and she filled it with the most scrumtious brads in the best colors. I could not wait and I added ALL of my brads also. This holder is the BEST!!! I have never seen anything like this before. Thanks so much Amy!!!

I also got to make a card today in the middle of laundry, cleaning and keeping the kids in line. I made another Tilda. She is so adorable with her little rain boots. I wish I knew her name. I received the image in a swap. Anyway, I colored her with Prisma Pencils and Gamsol. My cardstock is all SU and my DP is from Daisy D's. The embellies are from Spare Parts. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT DAY!!
