Whimsical Flutterby Day

Hi Everyone and welcome to Flutterby Wednesday. Now before I even get started telling you about my card, I have to say that this card really kicked my butt. I cannot tell you how many times I redid this card and am I 100% thrilled with it?? Ehhh...but this was my final product.

For this card today I tried a few new things. I have been admiring those grunge flowers that everyone is making so I wanted to give that a try but to me my flower just looks like crinkly paper. I wonder if the texture of the paper had anything to do with it? I will have to try it again with different paper. Then I wanted to distress the edges of my paper which I feel came out pretty good. The rest of the card was easy peasy. I used my new Butterfly Wishes stamp set and stamped my sentiment on very vanilla cardstock and cut it out with my oval punches then under my sentiment I stamped alittle swirl with a butterfly from the same set. My dp is from the summer pack at MFT and my red and blue cardstock is from DCWV Brights Pack. Buttons were in my stash, small flowers were cut with a fiskars punch and the blue butterfly was stamped and cut out and glued on. My lace ribbon is from Taylored Expressions.

Why dont you come and play along with us for Flutterby Wednesday. This weeks challenge is to use ribbon and buttons and of course a butterfly or fairy. Just create your card and when you upload to SCS or PCP use keyword FBW.

Also you must check out the rest of the DT and their creations. I am positive you will be inspired.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!!

Well Ann if you are not happy with this card I am not sure why because I think it turned out wonderful!!!

I love the Shabby Chic colors and the lacy ribbon, and it might be because your flowers were scalloped and most of those grunge flowers are only circles but that is a mistake I totally love because when I first looked at your card I thought WOW she did those flowers everyone is doing but she used scallops how cool!!!!
