An Apple Birthday

Hi All. I am back from my weekend away with the family. We had such a wonderful time visiting family up in MA. It is a lovely little college town where my aunt lives with lots of Nature and great Cafe's. A good time was had by all. Although I did miss my crafting table ALOT and I am way to tired to craft tonight but I did make this before I left and wanted to share it with you.

For this card I used one of my much loved Lockhart stamps called Apples and I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black onto PTI Cardstock and cut it out with my circle and scalloped circle nesties. My dp is from DCWV Baby Girl Nursery Pack. Brads I purchased awhile ago from Pink Hedgehog on Ebay, button from stash and ribbon is certainly celery from SU. Oh and I colored my image with my copics.

Here is just one beautiful shot I took this weekend. It was a wonderful old farm on tons of land with lovely buttercups all throughout the field and lots of lush green background. This is what I had to suffer looking at all weekend. Oh poor me!!! LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great night!!

TCP Inspiration Challenge

Wow I have been on a roll this week getting my challenges done. There are still a few I wanted to do but dont know if I will get a chance to because we are going away for the weekend and that means no crafting for me. (I would rather stay home!!)

This is the card I made for this weeks Tuesday Challenge at The Cats Pajamas. It was an Inspiration challenge based on the above picture. How neat and clean is that picture. Boy do I wish my house was like that!! (Never happening!!). So I pulled out the blues, greys and yellows to make my card. My image is from TCP as is my sentiment. They were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI Cardstock. My dp is from the SU Prints Pack and I cant remember where I pulled the Saffron piece from. All Cardstock is SU. My grey baubles are from Stamping Bella and my sheer ribbon was purchased at Micheals. I like the way this came out. It is sweet.

So let me ask all of you a question. Which cardstock do you like the best for coloring with your copics. I have been using the PTI Cardstock which I love but someone told me that Taylored Expressions has great cardstock for coloring and it is not as thick so it does not use as much ink from your copics. Also I see alot of people using Gina K and My Favorite Things Perfect Panels. What is your fav and why?

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a fantastic night.

Scrap Attack!!

Well I am at it again. Cleaning scraps from my desk and not letting them go to waste. Every thing on this card except for the 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 white card base were all scraps. The circle punches, the bow, the red leaves, EVERYTHING!! I played around with it for awhile and this is what I came up with. I cant even tell you what dp is used. What do you think?? Your either gonna love it or hate it!! LOL

So a quick update on my weight loss because I have not shared in awhile. I am doing great on my diet. I am losing a consistent 2 lbs a week. Exercise on the other hand is alittle more difficult for me to maintain. I would rather be at my crafting desk if I have free time but I know just for good health I have to really get back into my routine. Anyone have any suggestions on how to maintain exercise???

Well I am done for tonight. Hope you have a great one. Thanks so much for stopping by

You make me Smile!!

And so does my Slice Machine. I played around with it again today for my Flutterby Wednesday card over at Dannis Dreams. I was able to make this gorgeous butterfly and the square frame around my sentiment. I am having so much fun.

So yes today is Flutterby Wednesday and our challenge this week is to use Brads or Eyelets. Easy Peasy!! I cut my butterfly out with my slice and created the body with chocolate brads from SU. Then I embellished my butterfly with some chocolate skittles that I had in stash. My dp is Bella Rose from SU and my delicious ribbon is retired from SU and I have been hording this piece for the longest time. My sentiment is from Hero Arts and is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Red Riding Hood cardstock and cut out with my circle punch from SU and then I layered that onto a chocolate chip cardstock circle. My frame is cut out using my slice. What I did was I cut it out first on white cardstock then I cut it out again using the dp and then mounted the dp onto the cardstock and propped it up with dimensionals. The white square inside is the piece that came out of the middle of the frame. (hope that all made sense).

So come and play along with the Flutterby Challenge. If you do, upload your card to SCS or PCP using the keyword FBW. This week our featured stamper is the talented Harriet, and below is a link to the rest of the team for you to get some inspiration from.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!!

SFYTT

Here is my card for this past Saturdays SFYTT. My image is from MFT and it is stamped onto PTI Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black. My dp is Washington Apple from SU. (have I told you how much I love this paper). I colored my image with my copics used a few white brads from SU and Real Red Ribbon from SU too. My side panel is cuttlebugged and I did alittle paper piercing around my image. (My buddy Jodi from Stamping a Latte would be so proud of me. She is the queen of paper piercing.)

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great night.

A Little Birdie Told Me....

Hi Everyone and Happy Memorial Day!! I hope everyone had a fun filled weekend. We went to a great BBQ yesterday and today my kids both walked in the Parade we have in the center of town. Both with their schools. I just love a parade. Especially Memorial Day. I always well up when those wonderful Veterans walk by. Applauding just does not seem to do justice for what these courageous men and women have done for our country. KWIM??

Anywhoo....I did get in a good amount of crafting this weekend and I rediscovered the beauty of my MM Slice Machine. I have 4 different cartridges and they all make such wonderful shapes and letters. Like the curvy shape that is on my card today. Bet you were thinking there were new nesties out that you have not seen!! NOPE, my Slice!! Whoo Hoo! This was a quick little card I made just to play with the cartridges I had. My stamp and sentiment are both from Inkadinkadoo and they are stamped onto PTI cardstock with Ruby Red ink. My dp is from the Wild Raspberry pack from K & Co. and my cardstock is from SU. Brads, flowers and buttons were from stash. Quick and easy.

So thanks for stopping by for a visit. I will have more to show you in the next few days and of course Wednesday if Flutterby day and for this week (I will give you a head start) you need to use brads or eyelets along with your butterfly or fairy. Cant wait to see what you come up with. Have fun and have a great night.

Another Awesome Sketch Challenge

I was browsing around blogs the other day and found this awesome sketch challenge on Jen del Muro's blog for The Cats Pajamas. TCPTUES59. I fell for it and had to give it a try. You can find all the deets for the challenge here.

My card was made with TCP images which were stamped onto PTI Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black twice. On one of the images I colored with my copics and on the other image I just colored the cupcake, cut it out and propped it up with dimensionals. I cut my entire image out with my circle nesties. My gorgeous dp is from MFT. It is thier Spring pack. LOVE IT!! Then I found a great green ribbon in stash and used some more of those paper flowers I found at Michaels with green brads for the centers. My leaves were made with my Little Leaves die from SU. Fun challenge and a fun card.

Hope you are enjoying the beginning of your holiday weekend. Kids were home today so I did alot of "entertaining" them and of course they need to be feed atleast 10 times a day. LOL. Enjoy your long weekend and be safe. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Great Sketch Challenge

Wow I just love this weeks Sketch Challenge on SCS. SC229. I was a perfect opportunity to use one of my fav Lockhart stamps. Which I stamped on PTI Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with my copics and cut out with my much neglected rectangle nesties. My cardstock is SU and I layered Sage Shadow and Barely Banana. Colors that I hardly ever use but they matched well with my dp from K and Co. The Wild Raspberry Pack. Yummy yummy paper!!! Now here is my little secret which you may or may not be able to see. I tried to use my slot punch from SU to weave my ribbon through BUT I had already layered my paper and it was WAY to thick for my punch to go through. I thought I would have to redo that panel and then I saw my exacto knife and chiseled away a slot in my panel. If you look close you can probably see the ragged edges but for the most part the ribbon hides it thank goodness. So there is my ribbon and then I finished the card off with a small paper flower from Prima and a few clear skittles that I had in stash. I just love the way it came out!! Hope you do too.

Yahoo the holiday weekend is here. I love Memorial Day Weekend. I make my kids my Summer Pasta Salad that they love and we walk in the Parade in the middle of town with thier schools. So much fun and seeing the Veterans march in the parade always brings tears to my eyes.

Well that is it for me tonight. I will have plenty of crafting time this weekend so I will be back tomorrow with more goodies to see. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great night.

Mojo Monday meets Flutterby Wednesday!

Hi Everyone! It is Wednesday and that means a new Flutterby Card over at Dannis Dreams. This week the challenge is to of course use a butterfly or fairy along with 2 different kinds of dp. Well that was easy peasy using this weeks MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge #87.

I started off by watercoloring my butterfly with Riding Hood Red and Pumpkin Pie. I then added a coat of shimmerz although you cant really see it. I then layered So Saffron, Riding Hood Red and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and used dp from SU's Washington Apple and Bella Rose. I cut my circles out with nesties and propped them up with dimensionals and then cut my butterfly out and popped that up on a dimensional also. My flowers are from stash, linen thread is SU, brads from stash and button from Doodlebugs. The border punch I used today is MS. I really like the way this came out today. Washington Apple paper is my current all time fav SU paper.

You can play along with this weeks Flutterby Challenge also. Just upload a card made with a butterfly, fairy and 2 kinds of dp to either SCS or PCP with keyword FBW. Come and join us!! This weeks guest stamper is my good buddy and amazingly talented Jodi Collins from Stamping a Latte and our featured DT member is super talented Stef. I am also listing below the rest of the Flutterby DT for you to visit and get some inspiration from.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day!!

Have tea with me!!

Every night I climb into bed with my daughter to snuggle then when my hubby comes upstairs he brings me a cup of hot tea. It is a great winddown and nice way to have a conversation after a long day. That is why I just love this Flopsey. He/She is so relaxed under a nice shady tree drinking hot tea. AHHHH.....So this stamp is called Tea with Flopsey from MFT. LOVE IT!!! I guess I have a thing for cute little bunnies. Well I stamped my image onto PTI Cardstock with memento tuxedo black and colored with my copics. My dsp is also from MFT. It is thier summer pack and let me tell you how yummy this paper is IRL along with my beautiful sheer ribbon also from MFT summer bundle. MMM MMM MMM!! My cardstock is baja breeze from SU and the red I found in a brights pack from DCWV. It matched perfectly!! Brads I had in stash and that sweet little white flower was purchased in a little tin from Michaels Bridal Section. They have a bunch of different colors and they are very sweet. My sentiment was cut out using my oval punches from SU. And my card is complete. Hope you like this little guy as much as I do.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great night!!

My Favorite Things...

...are these new little bunnies from MFT. I just love them to pieces!! This is from the new set called Snuggle Bunnies and the layout is this weeks sketch from MFT. Sketch MFTSC81. Between these little bunnies and Flopsey I could be set for life. They just make my heart sing!! So my image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto PTI Cardstock and I paper pieced these little sweeties with paper from Parisian Breeze Specialty. I must get more of this paper before it retires. It is just scrumtious!! Okay back on track....I layered the tails twice for a three dimentional look . (I forget what this technique is called). I struggled for awhile as to were to put my ribbon. It just did not seem to fit anywhere and then it came to me to put a cute little bow in one of the bunnies ears. That worked perfectly!! I cut my sentiment out with my oval punches from SU added a few white brads and DONE!! Easy peasy!!

So we had the most relaxing weekend. Gotta love it. I actually stayed in my jammies a good portion of today which I hardly EVER do. Even the cats were relaxed. Take a look at our Bootsie Cat. The picture says it all!!

I hope you all had a great weekend also. Thanks so much for coming by and saying Hi!! Have a great night.

MOJO Monday Sketch

Hi Everyone! I played along with the Mojo Monday Sketch (MOJO86). What a great layout. For my card I used my MFT stamp set Bundles of Bouquets. I just love all the little flowers and prettiness in this set. I stamped my images onto PTI cardstock and mounted on Rose Red and So Saffron. I colored with my copics. My dp is Wild Raspberry from K and Co and Raspberry Tart from SU. My sentiment is from the same set as the images.

I think this came out really cute!!

So how about AI last night!!!??? Were you as surprised as everyone else was? I will tell you the truth, as much as I am sure Adam will win a part of me would love to see Chris win. He is just so sweet. We shall see next week!!

Okay I am off to have a cup of tea and get ready for the season finale of Greys Anatomy. I know it sounds like I am in front of the TV alot but I really only have a handful of shows I watch. But the ones I watch I am ADDICTED too!! (hehe).

Hope you have a great night. Thanks so much for stopping by and let me know how you like todays card!!

A New Flutterby Day!!

Wow. Did you ever have one of those days when everything about your card just turns out right. (I know you have because I have seen your blog). Well making this card was one of those days. LOVE IT!! My card is made with a set from MFT called Bundles of Bouquets. I stamped it on PTI White cardstock and colored with my copics. Then I mounted that onto a piece of Real Red then I propped that piece up on top of the two ovals which are also popped up and cut out with my nesties in So Saffron and Real Red. My sentiment was also stamped onto PTI and cut out with my oval punch and then my scalloped oval punch for the Real Red panel. My dp is from K & Co. Wild Raspberry and from SU. Little flutterbys are stamped on real red, cut out and popped up and I finished the card off with two white brads from SU.

So why dont you play along this week also with the Flutterby challenge over at Dannis Dreams. All you need to do is made a card with a fairy or a butterfly and post it on either SCS or PCP with keyword FBW. This week the challenge is simple in that you have to use a sentiment.

Check out the rest of the DT's work also. I know you will be in for a treat!! Especially with our featured stamper this week who is Nicola and our new team members Leila and Christine. Welcome girls!!!

Have a fabulous day and thanks so much for stopping by!!

The End!!

Good morning Everyone!! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. The weather here was beautiful so my dh planted my flowers (I do not enjoy gardening), so everything is Springy and Colorful!! I was able to get some crafting in yesterday. Believe it or not I still did a ton of chores yesterday, even on Mothers Day, because I worked a craft fair on Saturday and well, the kids needed those darn socks!! So one of the cards I was able to make was using the super adorable set from MFT called Whats the Story. I am in love with this little Flopsey guy. I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto PTI Cardstock and colored with my copics. My coloring is alittle off because I ran out of ink in my fav copic that I was coloring with. I ran out right in the middle of highlighting so I had to grab another color and well it just was not the same effect. My dp is from Basic Grey's Mellow pack that I got for a steal at Michaels (3.99). Cardstock is old olive and brocade blue from SU. Ribbon is Brocade Blue and brads from stock. Oh and the border punch I used was MS Arch Lattice which I think is my fav border punch to use. And Viola!! Done.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Today is my weigh in at Jenny Craig. According to my scale I have lost another 5 lbs this week. WHOO HOO!! That would bring me to a total of 13lbs in three weeks. I am being soooooooooo good but I have to say that I am due for my period and it is so hard around this time for me to be good. I just get extra hungry!!! Send me good thoughts to get me through the next week!!! Have a fantastic day.

Simple Cards

Hi Everyone! Hoping you are having a wonderful Mothers Day. I know I am. Happy Mothers Day to all of you. I have two cards to show you right now. They are both very simple with not alot of embellies. The first card was made using this weeks color challenge and sketch challenge over at SCS. CC217 which was to use Garden Green, Cameo Coral and Ballet Blue and here is SC227:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=145325&d=1241584338Well Cameo Coral is just not one of my fav colors but I had some dp left over from the very first pack of paper I bought from SU. Ginger Blossom so it worked perfectly with this sketch. My image is from SU's Friends 24-7. It was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto PTI Cardstock and colored with my copics. My ballet blue panel was embossed with my Divine Swirls folder. Side border was punched using my fiskars Treading Water punch. My ribbon was colored with my copics to match. I learned this technique from Cindy Lawrence. Thanks Cindy!! Then my embellies are a simple green button and a white paper flower with a garden green brad. Simple today but I like the way it came out.

My next card was made for my 12 year old sons best friend. I needed a very simple but little bit more mature boy card. I used some new paper I got at Michaels from My Minds Eye 29th Street Market. I actually bought it to go with my cowgirl Sophia from Paper Pretties but it worked perfect for this card too. My sentiment is from Hero Arts and my stars are stamped in Choc Chip onto sage shadow cardstock and cut out and mounted with dimensional. The stars are from a set by Paper Makeup called Starstuck.

Thanks so much for coming by today to say hi!! I have so much fun reading the comments you leave. They totally make my day!! Have a great one!!

You brighten my day!!

Yes, everyone who visits my blog brightens my day!! And I love visiting yours also!! Todays card was made with a Stamping Bella image and sentiment which were stamped on PTI Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black. My cardstock is all SU and my dp is from K and Company "Wild Raspberry". I colored my image with copics and did alittle paper piercing which I hardly ever do but it is fun every so often.

So I am here watching American Idol with my kids (yes I scheduled this post) and I am so surprised at the results so far. I thought for sure Chris was going home but he is safe and now I have to guess that Danni will be going home. Too bad. He is a nice guy and has an awesome voice. Are you all as addicted to AI as I am?? ***Well I am editing this post with my SURPRISE that Allison went home. We are very upset in our house :(***

Well I hope you all have a fantastic day. Still raining here. I am about to pull out the ark real soon. Bye for now!!

Inspiration Wednesday!!

Hi Everyone! This week our flutterby creations were based on a GORGEOUS picture that Danni of Dannis Dreams took. You can see it here. I personally chose to take the colors from the picture and work with them. I could not really tell if the butterfly was red or dark orange but I worked with Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, and Basic Black. My image and sentiment from Upsy Daisy was stamped with Basic Black ink onto Pink Pirouette and then embossed with clear EP. My dp is from the Bella Rose set. Ribbon is from Michaels and brads are from Basic Grey. The border punch I used today was the Arch Lattice one from MS and my butterflies are punched from a fiskars punch.

Today we have a very special guest stamper and that is Kerry Donovan-Casey from Three Clover Designs. What an awesome blog she has, and our featured stamper is our very own Kim who also has an equally awesome blog. You definitely need to check them out along with the rest of the DT. Who I have listed below for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Kermie Green!!

Happy Monday and Happy May!! Well I thought the old saying was April showers brought May flowers....well we had such nice weather at the end of May that the Spring Flowers already bloomed and NOW in May, we are having buckets of rain for the next week. It is so dreary and chilly, but I know the grass really needs the water.

I worked a HUGE craft fair this weekend with my doll clothes. It was for 2 days and what a great community. There were hoards of people who came out to play and shop. EVEN in the rain!! I had alot of fun with these great people.

Before I get to my card I will keep you updated on my weight loss. Today is my weigh in at Jenny for the "official" count but as of right now on MY scale I show another loss of 3 lbs this week. YAY ME!! And I feel terrific also. Thanks so much to all of you for your kind words and support. It means so much to me!!

So NOW FINALLY onto my card. Did you ever have one of those days when you had all the time in the world to craft and yet NOTHING seemed to fall into place? Well that we me last week and todays and tomorrows cards are the results. Now mind you, this is not a horrible card by any means, I am just not "feeling it" for this one. I stamped my Paper Pretties image, Someone Special, onto PTI Cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with my copics. My paper is K & Company Wild Raspberry. Cardstock is white and rose red and my ribbon is rose red and white also. The three little white brads are from Basic Grey and I punched my sentiment from MFT with my oval punches.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you are having a great day!!
